The Baby Room - 0-2 years Our Baby Room is divided into two areas for mobile and non-mobile babies. Staff are skilled at settling young babies and building a sense of trust and security on their first experience of nursery. For the older babies we have a home corner, baby gym, book corner, texture tray and sensorial experiences on the wall. |
| The Toddler Room - 2-3 years Once the developing child is steady and secure in their movements, they need space and challenges to perfect their developing skills. Our Toddler Room is divided into two areas with open access to the garden. Children have access to creative activities, texture trays and early practical life experiences. There is also a toddler gym, a quiet book area, a home corner, dressing up, table top toys and construction/imagination play experiences. Staff will observe the child and respond to extending activities that nurture and develop the young toddlers experiences. |

Creative Area Toddler Room The toddler learns through his five senses and through movement. With this in mind, they have creative activities and texture trays. Staff observe the toddlers and how they can nurture and extend the young toddlers learning experiences. The Toddler Room has direct access to the garden. |
| Pre-School Room The Pre-School Room is in a separate annex within the property and is self contained. It is fully equipped with the Montessori apparatus which also supports the Curriculum of Excellence. The quality of learning experience received very good in our HMIe Inspection. Our Pre-School unit is divided into a cultural area, maths, language, creative, sensorial and practical life. For children at the nursery all day, we wanted to create a home from home feel, there are areas to relax, facilities to nap and opportunities to visit younger siblings and staff in other rooms. All the furniture, kitchen and art sinks are at child height to actively encourage autonomy, independence, confidence and self esteem. |

Practical Life The Practical Life Area represents the link between home and school. The children are encouraged to participate in “real life experiences”, carrying out real chores in the classroom which helps the child progress autonomy, independence, confidence and self esteem. These activities refine the child’s coordination, concentration and they are an indirect preparation for mathematics, language development and more complex thought. |
| Sensorial Materials The Sensorial Materials are especially designed didactic apparatus which in isolation focus on each of the five senses. The exercises with the materials start from the simple to the more complex under the careful observation and presentation from a Montessori Practitioner as she will follow the specific pace of the individual child. |
